Dinking & Dashing: Our Pickleball Journey

It all started with two sisters who got hooked on pickleball and decided to make every trip count—whether it was for work, vacation, or anything in between. No matter the destination, we packed our pickleball gear. Rain or shine, indoor or outdoor, morning or night—we just wanted to play.

And we did.

Sometimes, it was just us hitting around; other times, we’d stop at a random court, walk up to some strangers, and say, “Hey, mind if we join?” After 30 minutes or so, we weren’t strangers anymore. It was always, “Oh, you’re from Texas? How long have you been playing?” And by the end, we’d be laughing, swapping stories, and feeling like we’d made new friends for life.

For us, even a 9-hour road trip was just another opportunity to find a court. (Yes, you can pretty much pickleball anywhere...and wearing anything. Carrie mostly wears Crocs, and no, she has no regrets.)

We started taking notes—where we played, who we met, the funny moments, and even Marty’s curveball that left us both speechless. Eventually, we realized we had a bigger goal: play pickleball in all 50 states like we were stamping a passport.

That’s when it hit us:
“What if we had an app to track all this? Courts, friends, memories—all in one place!”

And just like that, Dink & Dash was born. What started as two sisters dashing to new courts and dinking with new friends is now an app for anyone who loves pickleball as much as we do.
